New 2006 Mizuno Crush 3

This bat feels different then the Crush or Crush2, and has a pretty dang big endload... The bat I was testing is a 27oz, that has about 150 swings on it. It is breaking in already and is starting to really get hot! It definately needs to break in, because with every swing over 100 its feeling and sounding much better. Right now its getting about 15-20ft less distance them my freak original, and for a 98mph bat, thats IMPRESSIVE!!! I would rate this bat as the #1 under $230 bat for the new year... Its got performance, durability and a nice endloaded feel. The G3 will be a welcome addition to a line of mizuno bats that has not been up to par for the last 2 years.

mayhem

Worths first step into the 100% composite bat market is definately a good one... The Mayhem is a good bat, with decent performance, good durability, and a big sweet spot... The first thing you will notice is how heavy these bats are, and the location of the sweet spot. The mayhem's Ive tested, were all swinging at least 1oz heavier then their marked weights. So the first thing I would recomend, is going down 1oz from your normal bat weight with the new mayhem. This bat is HEAVY! The 2nd important note is that unlike most newer bats, the sweet spot is not towards the end of the barrel... It is located approx 2" from the taper to about 3" from the end... anything more towards the end and your gonna be hating life... I have a feeling this is due to the extremely balanced weighting of the mayhem.
The Mayhem takes 200-400 cust to break in, and will definatley heat up the more you swing it... So dont just throw her out the window after the first round of bp, because she will WARM UP!

Give her some time, and some swings to get used to the location of the sweet spot, and the mayhem will reward you with solid performance, a great feel, and great durability.

PSTOC

The First thing I noticed was the nice feeling, lighter then normal swing weights... These pst's are the first 28oz that are true to 27.5-28.5oz on a digital scale. Ive seen so many 28oz pst's weighing in at 29oz-30oz, that I was expecting the new one's to be a log too... Well the first three I picked up were 27.5, 27.8 and 28oz EXACTLY... THATS AWESOME to say the least... Because with the PST, the key to distance is bat speed. This bat can not be over swung... The Harder you swing it, the more it likes it... I felt as though there was no limit to how hard you could compress these walls... The titanium sleeve they have on this badboy is flexing like no pst has in years... I dont know, but Im guessing the Optimized Compression shell is the key to this bat's SUPER SWEET FEEL right outta the wrapper.

The 27oz still has the slightly shorter barrell, and the 28 and 30oz have the longer barrell's like the older models... There is absolutely no counter weight, or handle weight in the new OC... So dont worry about slow hands, because with no handle weight to slow you down, your gonna be swinging like a demon... The PSTOC is the best pst since the B&G PST137 (which is one of my most favorite bats of all time). The only drawback I can see is on a really hot day when the balls get to mushy to flex the walls... But other then that, this bat is right up there with the top bats for 2006...

Easton Synergy Flex

The new CNT (Composite Nano Tube) technology is going to put EASTON BACK ON TOP OF THE SOFTBALL WORLD... The new EASTON's are just plain SICK! They have more handle flex then any other bat on the market... And the new CNT allow's the walls to be thinner then EVER BEFORE! These new bats are AWESOME!! The Flex Ive been testing is just now going over its 250th hit, and is SMOKING THE BALL!!! I am hitting 300ft line drives that dont get over 8ft high and SLAM THE FENCE!!! The NANO TECHNOLOGY WILL REVOLUTIONIZE THE GAME AGAIN!!! Just like Miken did with the Ulra, and Easton and TPS did with their Titaniums, and Ray DeMarini did with the doublewall... THE NANO TECHNOLOGY will allow the STRONGEST COMPOSITES, THINNEST WALLS, and HIGHEST LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE... This is some GREAT STUFF!!! With strength levels 5000 stronger then steel, the COMPOSITE NANOTUBE IS THE FUTURE OF SOFTBALL! Edit Text

My Own Personal Review of the Combat B1 DaBomb

This bat was hot with in 10-15 swings of the wrapper coming off... No break in time needed... When I compare this bat to the original C4, the first thing I notice is the way the ball leaves the bat.. There is no comparison. Sure the C4 was good for low comp mush balls, and it had decent performance for a $200 bat, but it was not anywhere near the elite bats such as the Miken Freak, Synergy +, Toledo Katana, etc... This B1 is in the company of the best bats ever made... Some people are saying it is as hot as the hottest bats ever made (yes including the ultra etc) and even better then the freak, freak+, katana, and others! I would rank it in my top 2 bats for the year with the well broken in freak Ive been swinging since the start of the 2004 season.

For me the balls were getting through the infield easily as quick as the freak, but the real sign of greatness was the distance... The distance I was getting off the B1 was incredible, it was easily another 10-20 feet further then any other bat in my bag... If your looking for home run power, even when you miss the ball, the B1 will DELIVER! I did not think it would be possible to improve upon the freak, but with the B1 at the very least your getting a bat that will keep up with or go beyond even the hottest of bats (such as the freak/freak+)
